EDUCATION SERVICES

Education is the milestone of the development of nations. All improvements made in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries in science and technology have been made as a result of education. For this reason, since the establishment of the Turkish Republic in 1920s, many reforms have been made in the field of education.
The literacy rate in Kutahya is 98 %. There are 424 schools with a student population of 95340 employing 5124 teachers.

Pre-school Education
Pre-school education is optional and aims to prepare children for primary education. There are many kindergartens and crèches in the province. In addition, some primary schools offer per-school education. There are 3511 students in pre-school education.

Primary School Education
The compulsory education is 8 years in Turkey. There are some 353 primary schools with 67307 students in the province. They have all internet facilities. Hence, it is easy to connect the internet in these schools.

Secondary Education
There has been substantial growth in secondary education in the province over the past two decades. There are 31 high schools and 37 vocational schools with 24522 students.

Public Education
The Kutahya Center for Public Education has been providing education in many areas to all members of the public regardless of age. There are various kinds of courses covering different professional subjects. The centre also has branches in the districts of the province.

Higher Education
The University of Dumlupinar was established in 1992. It has only a 13 years of past. However, two of the constituents (Business Administration Faculty and Kutahya Vocational School) were established in 1974 and 1975, respectively under Anadolu University’s administration.
The university has 751 lecturers and 28000 students. Currently, the university consists of 7 faculties, 2 graduate schools, 2 colleges, 9 vocational schools, 8 research centers.
